September 21, 2016 - Event Recap
On Saturday, September 10, we hosted 2016’s final Buying Into Baltimore homebuying fair at the Radisson Hotel at Cross Keys.
The event was packed with attendees seeking expert advice on buying a home in Baltimore City. And they found it!
By coming to the fair, prospective homebuyers became eligible to apply for $5,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance from Baltimore City Housing.
Along the way, Live Baltimore experts shared insider knowledge about the neighborhoods, such as…
- In Ashburton, Lake Ashburton Public Park has one of the best views of the Baltimore skyline
- Druid Hill Park is home to an 18-hole disc golf course and Safety City, a “mini-city” used to teach children how to safely navigate city streets
- Callaway-Garrison residents plant apple trees throughout the neighborhood, partnering with the Baltimore Orchard Project and donating to charities that feed the poor. Last year they harvested 100 pounds of fruit!
Back at Cross Keys, attendees met with dozens of real estate professionals, community organizations, and neighborhood associations for one-on-one advice. Workshops led by homeownership and credit experts covered topics like preparing credit for homebuying, mortgages, and historic tax credits.
