January 24, 2017 - Neighborhood Tour
On the final Friday of every month, Live Baltimore heads out of the office and into Baltimore’s neighborhoods. Each month, we love what we find! December was no different.
This Final Friday, we headed to Hampden to check out the new digs at The Rotunda redevelopment! This revitalization of an original Baltimore landmark (built in 1921 between 38th and 40th Streets) impresses, adding wonderful dining and retail options as well as 379 luxury apartments (now leasing!).
Our tour began in the main Rotunda building as our gracious guide, Project Developer Chris Bell (thanks Chris!) talked and walked us through the long list of tenants which help fill the nearly 300,000 square feet of office and retail space offered on the premises. They include the Space Telescope Science Institute, the national headquarters of iHeartRadio, Floyd’s Barbershop, Starbucks, MOMS Organic Market, Pet Valu, Massage Envy, and many more. We understand why leasing has been easy—the welcoming environment and convenient location had us feeling at home in a hurry.
From there, we arrived at the main attraction; the ICON residences. These beautiful apartments range from one bedrooms and two bedrooms to loft set-ups, boasting beautiful views of Baltimore, some reaching as far as the Key Bridge! The amenities only add to the attraction, with a full gym, pool, yoga room, fireplaces, resident lounges and even on-site bike repair and dog-washing stations!
Our Final Friday adventure ended with a surprise; a behind the scenes hard-hat tour of the soon-to-be-open CinéBistro at The Rotunda! No spoilers here, so all we can say is we can’t wait for the opening of this unique, dinner-and-a-movie style theater, expected soon.
Located just a few blocks from Johns Hopkins University and with easy access to downtown, the revitalized Rotunda and ICON residences are destinations providing our city with more great living and entertainment options. We’re excited about what the site has to offer and are already planning a return trip.
