We’re hiring a Program Manager, Community Engagement!

We’re looking for a Program Manager, Community Engagement who will help develop and maintain Live Baltimore’s homebuying incentives program, build and foster relationships with community associations, and work with Live Baltimore staff on annual events. Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Program Manager, Community Engagement will provide excellent customer service and timely communication to prospective home buyers who are seeking grants and current Live Baltimore grantees. The Program Manager, Community Engagement will also lead our community engagement efforts and steward relationships with partner organizations and volunteers.

Key Priorities & Responsibilities:

Homebuying Incentive Program Management & Administration:

  • Develops and maintains program workflow and processes.
  • Provides exceptional customer service support to program applicants.
  • Collaborates cross-team to ensure timely review of applications.
  • Captures program data and ensure data integrity.
  • Tracks both quantitative and qualitative trends for reporting.
  • Ensures program compliance with funding requirements.

Community Engagement and Customer Service:

  • Builds and maintains relationships with a variety of nonprofit, business, and community partners (including Community Development Corporations,homeownership counseling agencies, neighborhood associations, and other community-based organizations).
  • Communicates regularly with partners through email, phone calls, meetings, and events.
  • Collaborates with partners to develop programs and resources that achieve mutual goals.

Relationship Management:

  • Builds and maintains relationships with a variety of nonprofit, business, and community partners (including Community Development Corporations,homeownership counseling agencies, neighborhood associations, and other community-based organizations).
  • Communicates regularly with partners through email, phone calls, meetings, and events.
  • Collaborates with partners to develop programs and resources that achieve mutual goals.

Communications and Marketing:

  • Develops content and draft regular community-focused email newsletters.
  • Works closely with Marketing & Communication team to create compelling and relevant content that reaches key demographics.

Event Support:

  • Staffing of regular Live Baltimore events.
  • Assists in planning event programming and content.

Is This You?:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • 2+ years of experience and proven success in a community engagement, external affairs, or similar role
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills, a customer service mindset, and the ability to interact positively and professionally with a wide variety of audiences (from nonprofit professionals to community leaders to individuals pursuing homeownership)
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a positive, professional attitude and goal-oriented and solutions-based mentality
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to follow established workflows and procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Intermediate proficiency with software: Microsoft Office Suite; customer relationship management tools (Salesforce is a plus); Zoom or other online meeting platforms
  • Ability to work well both in a team and independently
  • Bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English, strongly preferred
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (to attend community meetings and events; three Saturdays per year are mandatory)
  • Access to reliable transportation (to attend community meetings and events)
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift/carry items weighing up to 25 pounds on a regular basis

  • RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT: You must reside in Baltimore City at time of application and throughout employment!

Total Compensation Package:

  • Hourly starting salary, commensurate with experience: $28.85-$31.25/hour; Bilingual Spanish/English, $30.29-$32.81/hour
