Meet the Principal

Amanda Brown became the Principal of Thomas Johnson after first serving a year as a residential principal through the New Leaders for New Schools principal residency training program. She previously worked as Principal of Roland Park Elementary/Middle School. “In this day and age all the information students could want is out there, but we want to ignite learning and act as a facilitator so kids feel empowered,” she said.

Principal Brown’s education background includes teaching high school English and serving as an academic content liaison in the Central Office. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Salisbury University and a master’s degree in teaching for secondary literacy from the Johns Hopkins University.
