What brought you to Baltimore?

Like many people, I moved to Baltimore for love. When I met my wife, she was living here and I was in DC. After some convincing, I moved here in 2007 and cannot imagine living anywhere else now. I already knew Baltimore to be a dynamic, unique, and formidable place. I did not expect it to have the heart and soul that it does.

What do you love most about this neighborhood?

Wyman Park is a green oasis in the middle of a dynamic and evolving part of the city. I love the park, the trees, the homes, the many familes and kids here, and the sense of community we have in Wyman Park. We are proud neighbors to Hampden, Remington, JHU, and Roland Park, but we are also proud to be ourselves and to host the many people from other neighborhoods and places that visit and use our greenspaces and trails. Wyman Park does not have the hustle of Hampden, Fells, or Fed Hill or the perceived prestige of our neighbors to the north, but we are low-key awesome and the perfect mix of urban and greenspace like some of our other understated Baltimore neighborhoods.

What would you tell someone considering this neighborhood?

Wyman Park is a special place that knows it but doesn't take itself too seriously, and loves to share the gifts we've been given. Many of our residents have lived here for decades, some raising their now-grown children here. They stay - and we continue to attract new residents - because this is a tight-knit neighborhood whose residents are caring, involved, and committed to making Wyman Park a better version of its already-great self. The trees and the park are phenomenal, and you can walk to just about any store, restaurant, or social space that your heart desires. The amount of families with kids here make Wyman Park a great place to grow and raise a family, and there is an amazing community Baltimore City Public School a few blocks away (go Hampden Elementary/Middle!). We simply love it here. Come join us!
