What brought you to Baltimore?

My time in the military placed me in many different types of locations, ranging from Hawaii to Colorado to Afghanistan. Prior to enlistment I lived in upstate NY (born and raised) and then North Carolina. I had never been to Baltimore, but I knew it was the place I wanted to live after returning from overseas. The opportunity for growth was a major motivator for me, but in a more abstract way it was the kind of atmosphere the city promised. Having previously lived in a post-industrial rust belt city, I find the vibe that these cities provide to be entirely charming and unique. Yes, there's a grittiness and certain aspects that could definitely be better, but feeling a connection to a place you have previously never traveled to is an amazing experience, and Baltimore has certainly met my expectations!

What do you love most about this neighborhood?

It's so quiet and serene while still be close to EVERYTHING. Walking to Penn station is so easy, as is hopping on the highway to head out of the city. Getting to points of interest, whether it be a cafe, hardware store, theatre, or garden center all are within a 5-10 minute commute. The neighborhood is full of walkable tree-lined streets and beautiful gardens everywhere. It really is such an oasis in the middle of the city.

A job brought me to Baltimore.

What do you love most about this neighborhood?

We moved to Bolton Hill for the beautiful architecture and stayed because of the wonderful neighbors.

What would you tell someone considering this neighborhood?

Bolton Hill is ideally located in the heart of Baltimore. The historic row homes are grand and gorgeous, the trees and green spaces are cared for, and most importantly, Bolton Hill is a civically engaged, socially-minded community of all ages and housing needs.
